Theater YOU invites you to become the Patron of the Arts!
It's hard to believe, but it has already been 12 years since our small troupe began performing in the Bay Area. We started small as a “backyard” group and have steadily grown to what is today known as Theater "YOU".
Our audiences have had a chance to see such wonderful plays as A. Zoshchenko "Crime and Punishment", G. Gorin "Forget Herostratus", "What wouldn't I do for you ... " based on short plays of French authors, Gabriel Barilli's "Honeymoon", Harold Pinter's "The Lover", and A. Pushkin's "Little Tragedies."
Every new production gives us the opportunity to grow both in understanding artistic goals and methods, and in learning the technical side of the production process. This knowledge gives us the means to bring to our audiences better and more exciting shows.
Now we are ready to take the next step in our theater group’s growth. We have begun the process of opening our own theater. This new home needs repair and renovation to make it “play ready.” Although we have completed a lot of work, even more lies ahead.
We are asking you, our beloved audience, family, and friends for your help. In today’s financial climate, theaters must rely even more on grants, creative funding, and donations from theatre aficionados in order to survive. No actor, crew member, or director of the Theater "YOU" receives a salary, and therefore all donations go directly to improve our production, costumes, sets, and theater in general. Theatre "YOU" is a 501(c)3 non-profit and your donation is fully tax-deductible.
And all of this gets us to the main purpose of the theater - Performance. And of course YOU - our audience! Thank you!
